NEWS : Good News! Kachikwu says Fuel Queues Will Be Over in Abuja and Lagos from Wednesday | Other States to follow by Weekend

The Minister of State for Petroleum Ibe Kachikwu in a townhall meeting held in Abuja with workers of the Petroleum Products Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) on Tuesday said that the fuel scarcity in the country will end from Wednesday through Thursday in Abuja and Lagos, and then Portharcourt, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Warri will follow suit by the weekend.

“Today we have the whole fuel queues and it is a complete nightmare for me. It has been a lot of work but the reality is that I hurt more like every Nigerian who is at the filling station, I am very emotional about my job and the things that I do.

There isn’t sufficient reason why Nigerians should suffer this much, we just need to take the right policies as difficult as it comes, we need to take the right policies to ensure that we do not have this recurrence of fuel scarcity, it’s been with us historically, but I don’t want that to define my legacy in the petroleum industry.
Hopefully by tomorrow through Thursday the fuel queues in Abuja should be over, hopefully the same thing will happen to Lagos and thereafter, by the weekend, we should see Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Port Harcourt and Warri get off this state” he said.

FOOTBALL : ARSENAL IN CONTRACT TALKS WITH IWOBI

The Nigerian starlet is in discussions to sign fresh terms with the Gunners after making his first-team breakthrough this season
Arsenal are in talks to extend the contract of attacker Alex Iwobi, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The 19-year-old made his debut last October and has gone on to make 15 appearances in all competitions as well as breaking into the Nigeria squad at international level.
Iwobi has scored in Arsenal's last two matches against Everton and Watford.
And Wenger is keen to agree fresh terms with the youngster, even though a long-term contract was signed only as recently as October.
"We are discussing it [a new contract] at the moment to extend him," Wenger told reporters ahead of the Gunners' match at West Ham on Saturday.
"I think that he is a real Arsenal person, he has been here since he was eight. He has three years left at the end of the season, but of course we want to keep him here for longer.
"There have been lots of positives in the last few months, he has quickly emerged and become a player with a good impact."

FOOTBALL : KANE NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH AS RANIERI SCOOPS MANAGER AWARD

The striker scored five league goals in March to help maintain Spurs' title push while the Italian led his side to 10 points out of a possible 12 and seven points clear at the top
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named Premier League Player of the Month for March with
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri named Manager of the Month.
Kane scored five times during March, netting against Arsenal in the 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane as well as grabbing doubles against Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
The England international’s goals means he is also the Premier League’s top scorer with 22, three ahead of Jamie Vardy, while his form has also helped Spurs stay in the hunt for the title.
Ranieri, meanwhile, has kept Leicester at the top of the table where they remain seven points clear of second-placed Spurs with just six games left to play.
The Foxes took 10 points from a possible 12 in March with their 2-2 draw against West Brom at the start of the month followed by 1-0 wins over Watford, Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
This is the second time this season Ranieri has been named Manager of the Month, having picked up the award back in November.

FOOTBALL : WILSHERE FRACAS DEALT WITH INTERNALLY - WENGER

The midfielder's alleged run-in with police outside a nightclub was taken out of proportion, says the Arsenal boss
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes reports of
Jack Wilshere allegedly being involved in an incident outside a London nightclub last weekend were taken out of proportion.
Pictures reportedly showed Wilshere – who is currently working his way back from a broken leg – talking with police outside the venue in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Wenger admitted he had spoken to the midfielder about the incident but insists the matter will be dealt with internally.
"I have spoken to him," he told reporters at a press conference. "It looks like it was taken out of proportion a little bit, and of course these are matters we like to keep internal.
"I don't know what happened, you can be provoked. It is not easy, when you are well known, to go out anywhere, you are often provoked.
"There was no [training] session the next day, he had a day off and [I] can accept sometimes the players go out when they are free the next day.
"What is positive is that he works very hard, I think he will have a good test tomorrow night [in the Under-21s].
"[It is important] not to rush him too much, and see how he responds to his next game."
Wilshere has yet to make an appearance for Arsenal this season after suffering a fractured fibula in July 2015 - the latest in a long line of injuries for the 24-year-old.
And Wenger admits his regular visits to the treatment room could be a threat to him achieving his full potential.
He added: "He has got a real football brain, he loves football and is very serious and dedicated.
"The only thing that could stop him from having a great career is injuries. It has been bad recently, hopefully he can improve and get the career he deserves."
