Davido robbed of $60k at gun-point in South Africa

HKN Boss and one of Nigeria’s superstars, David Adeleke, aka Davido, was last weekend, robbed in South Africa. The artiste, who made this known via a snapchat video, said that the incident took place as himself and his manager made their way to their hotel.
According to the artiste, the robbers made away with their watches, jewelry and passports. However, no injuries were sustained and no lives were lost in the unfortunate incident.
“My manager lost his $60,000 watch. It’s crazy,” Davido said in a Snapchat video. “They didn’t see it though,” he said, brandishing his custom made HKN Chain.
Only recently, Davido pampered himself with a brand new Audi R8 which he was reported to have acquired as an early birthday gift for himself.

WILL IT BE UNLUCKY NO.13 FOR TOTTENHAM AGAINST CHELSEA?

The north Londoners have not lost since the opening day of the season, but will they finally come unstuck against the Blues on Sunday... and who poses the biggest threat?
Tottenham will put their 12-game unbeaten run on the line when they host London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, with Mauricio Pochettino's men unbeaten since the opening day of the season.
It is 112 days since the White Hart Lane outfit last tasted league defeat - Kyle Walker's own goal at Old Trafford sealing their only loss - and they have risen up to fifth place in the table, just four points adrift of leaders Leicester City.
It is the joint-longest unbeaten streak Tottenham have managed in the Premier League era - you have to go back 30 years to find a longer run! - but it is still some way short of Arsenal's record 49-game unbeaten streak.
While Tottenham have been in stunning form this season, champions Chelsea have struggled to replicate their title-winning form of the previous campaign and currently sit in 15th place, just five points above the relegation zone.
The stats are ominous too: not only have Spurs had the most shots on target in the Premier League this season, but only four teams have conceded fewer. For Chelsea the opposite is true: only Newcastle and Sunderland have given up more shots on target, not to mention the fact they conceded five times on their last visit to White Hart Lane in January.
But the Blues will be buoyed by the fact that Spurs have endured a 5,000-mile round trip to face Qarabag in the Europa League, while in Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard they have two players who have tormented Tottenham in the past.

TOTTENHAM IN FRESH TALKS OVER KANE CONTRACT TO WARD OFF MAN UTD & CHELSEA

The 22-year-old will double his salary on the £35,000-a-week deal he signed in February as Spurs look to reward their star striker
By Greg Stobart
Tottenham are planning fresh talks with Harry Kane over a new contract that will double their star striker's salary.
Spurs have been in talks with Kane's representatives over a new £70,000-a-week deal for several months and are keen to reward the 22-year-old with a contract that reflects his importance to the side.
Kane signed a five-and-a-half year contract worth £35,000-a-week in February but Tottenham want to double his money with a contract that will keep the academy product in north London until 2021.
Tottenham rejected approaches for Kane from Manchester United over the summer and are well aware that the 20-time English champions retain a keen interest in the forward, while Chelsea have also been credited with interest in the past week.
Spurs sources say they have no intention of entertaining any offers for Kane either in January or next summer and chairman Daniel Levy realises that the England international’s performances have earned him a pay rise.
Kane scored 31 goals last season and, after a slow start to the current campaign, has scored nine times in his last six appearances in all competitions ahead of Sunday’s fixture against Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
Manchester United were prepared to spend up to £50 million to sign Kane in the summer transfer window but Tottenham rejected their advances - and they will adopt a similar stance to any future approaches.
Kane is considered the future of the club and has become the symbol of Mauricio Pochettino’s side as they challenge for a top four finish and a place in next season’s Champions League.
He signed a £20,000-a-week deal in August 2014 before being rewarded with his current contract in February and Tottenham have a strong track record of rewarding their best players with new deals.
Pochettino dismissed talk of interest from Chelsea after Kane scored the only goal in Tottenham's 1-0 win away at Quarabag in the Europa League on Thursday.
"I am happy that a big club want our player - this is because they show they are a top player with top performances," Pochettino said. "It is good when they are linked.
"But Harry, like Hugo [Lloris], wants to stay here. He is one of the best players and he is very happy. He wants to grow up with us and try the next few years to try for the top four and win titles with Tottenham. This is his challenge."

TERRY 'A BIG DOUBT' FOR CHELSEA'S CLASH WITH TOTTENHAM

The 34-year-old landed awkwardly in a challenge in the second half against Maccabi Tel Aviv and was forced to leave the field on a stretcher
Jose Mourinho has labelled John Terry a "big doubt" for Chelsea's trip to Tottenham on Sunday after the centre-back suffered a foot injury during Tuesday's 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The Chelsea captain appeared to injure his foot after falling awkwardly in a challenge with Gal Alberman and was replaced by Kurt Zouma in the 72nd minute after leaving the field on a stretcher.
"Of course he is [a doubt]," Mourinho told BT Sport after the match.
"I don’t want to speak without tests when we’re back in London, but I think he’s a big doubt."
Goals from Gary Cahill, Willian, Oscar and Zouma gave Jose Mourinho's side a 4-0 win in Israel.

FOOTBALL : POCHETTINO SAYS: I'M HAPPY CHELSEA WANT KANE, BUT HE IS STAYING

The England international has been linked with a move to the Blues this summer, but the Argentine insists he will remain at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future
Mauricio Pochettino is happy to see Harry Kane linked with Chelsea but insists the Tottenham striker wants to stay at the club.
The Blues are reportedly in the market for a striker, with Diego Costa struggling for form this season, and reports have suggested they will target the England international, who has scored nine goals so far this season.
But Pochettino has told Jose Mourinho to forget about signing the forward, who, along with Hugo Lloris, has ambitions to fulfil at Spurs.
"I am happy that a big club wants our player - this is because they show they are a top player with top performances," Pochettino told reporters. "It is good when they are linked.
"But Harry, like Hugo, wants to stay here. He is one of the best players and he is very happy.
"He wants to grow up with us and try the next few years to try for the top four and win titles with Tottenham. This is his challenge."
Kane suffered a dip in form at the start of the season, but has scored seven goals in his last four Premier League appearances, with Spurs set to face Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

FOOTBALL : VAN NISTELROOY HAILS 'NUMBER ONE' VARDY AFTER LEICESTER STRIKER BREAKS PREMIER LEAGUE RECORD

The England international has now scored in 11 consecutive games and overtaken the benchmark set by the former Manchester United striker in 2003
Ruud van Nistelrooy has hailed Jamie Vardy after the Leicester City striker broke the Dutchman's Premier League record by scoring in 11 consecutive games.
Vardy, who had already equalled the Dutchman's record set in 2003, struck in the first half of Leicester's clash with Manchester United on Saturday to set a new benchmark.
Well done @vardy7! You're number one now and you deserved it. #11inarow.

LAPORTA: LIKE CRUYFF IN HIS TIME, MESSI IS THE BEST IN HISTORY

Barcelona's former club chief says the 28-year-old deserves his Goal 50 trophy and claims the four-time Ballon d'Or winner can now be considered the game's greatest-ever player
EXCLUSIVE By Alberto Pinero & Ben Hayward
Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes
Lionel Messi is the best player in history and says the Argentine is a worthy winner of The Goal 50.
Messi topped the annual list of the 50 finest footballers in a calendar year for a record fourth time after leading Barca to the treble in 2014-15 and Laporta says the Blaugrana star can be considered the greatest - just like his idol Johan Cruyff back in the 1970s.
"For me, with respect to all of the great players in history, Messi is the best of them all," Laporta told
Goal in an exclusive interview.
"You really have to put things in their context and their historic moment. For me, my idol was always Johan Cruyff. For me he has always been the greatest, not just as a player but also as a person.
"He has been a point of reference for me. It was his era, his moment - and he was the best in the world. For me, the best in history.
"Leo, in his moment, is the best in the world and the best in history and the truth is that you have done justice by giving him this prize because he deserves it. He's a player who deserves everything."
Laporta highlighted Messi's unselfish nature on the pitch and said the 28-year-old will also go on to win the Ballon d'Or for the fifth time in January.
"He's not just a talented player individually," the former Barca president said. "He finishes off moves and scores goals, but he also does so much for his team-mates.
"You have done the right thing by giving him this award because I'm sure he will also win the Ballon d'Or."

BARCELONA 4-0 REAL SOCIEDAD: NEYMAR NETS TWICE IN EASY WIN

The Brazilian extended his lead at the top of the scoring charts by scoring two at Camp Nou, with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi also on the scoresheet in a comfortable victory
Neymar scored twice to lead Barcelona to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad at Camp Nou on Saturday.
David Moyes recorded a memorable 1-0 win over the champions last season but his successor as head coach, Eusebio Sacristan, a former Barca midfielder, endured an unhappy return to Camp Nou against the league leaders.
Neymar finished a fine team move to open the scoring on 22 minutes before another superb Luis Suarez volley made it 2-0 just before half-time, just as Sociedad had begun to threaten.
Barca made it three with Neymar's second early in the second half as the Catalans moved into cruise control and Lionel Messi grabbed a late fourth, with Claudio Bravo largely a spectator throughout the 90 minutes.
The victory puts more pressure on Real Madrid, with Rafael Benitez's side now nine points behind Barca ahead of their trip to Eibar on Sunday, while Sociedad remain just two points outside the bottom three.
Geronimo Rulli raced out sharply to block Suarez's run after Neymar's fine through ball as Barca began firmly on the front foot.
Rulli then snatched the ball superbly from the feet of Neymar as he raced onto Messi's pass before Andres Iniesta headed against the base of the post from 12 yards just two minutes later following a fine Suarez cross.
Sergio Canales blazed a half-volley high and wide from 25 yards out at the end of a rare Sociedad attack but Barca broke the deadlock with 22 minutes played - and in some style.
Messi controlled and flicked the ball into Dani Alves' path brilliantly, and the full-back's low cross was met by Neymar, who fired first time into the top corner as he raced into the penalty area.
Sociedad grew into the half but were unable to create any chances for a leveller and Suarez made it 2-0 just before the break when he met another Alves cross with a stunning volley which flew into the bottom corner from 12 yards out.
The game was ended as a contest just seven minutes after the break. Jeremy Mathieu raced in behind down the left following Iniesta's pass and squared the ball for Neymar, who was left with a simple finish from close range.
Messi, making his 600th career appearance, volleyed just wide of the near post after being teed up by Neymar, and Rulli clutched the ball gratefully to his chest when the Argentina star shot straight down the middle following a combination with the same team-mate a minute later.
Sociedad pushed for a way back into the match as Barca took their foot off the gas but full-back Yuri lashed into the side-netting when presented with their best opening to the left of the penalty area.
Bruma caused some problems as a late substitute, firing just wide from 18 yards before cutting inside Gerard Pique and forcing Bravo into a brilliant point-blank stop, but Messi came close a minute later when he curled a shot onto the crossbar from just inside the box.
Messi finally got in on the act in stoppage time. Neymar skipped inside from the right and played a one-two with Suarez before squaring the ball to an unmarked Messi at the far post, and he tapped home.

MOURINHO ORDERS CHELSEA LOCKDOWN

Jose Mourinho has ordered a Chelsea lockdown amid a sense that there is a campaign against the club among football authorities and the media.
Mourinho believes he has been targeted by the Football Association this season having twice been charged with misconduct and been issued with a stadium ban for the away fixture against Stoke earlier this month.
The Blues boss has been angered by several officials’ decisions in matches this season and has also hit out against media reports “calling for my end”.
Mourinho was backed by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich during the recent international break and his job is safe, at least in the short-term, despite the fact the champions sit 15th in the Premier League table having lost seven of their 13 matches.
Goal understands that Abramovich does have significant concerns but his continuing support for Mourinho largely stems from the lack of available options to replace him midway through the season, as well as the huge compensation packages that would be due to the Portuguese and his backroom staff.
In his attempts to turn around the club’s fortunes, Mourinho held meetings with his players last week in which he tried to create a siege mentality to rebuild the confidence and team unity that has been lost in recent months.
Mourinho looked to create a fresh start as he told his players to focus solely on football and called for an end to behind-the-scenes complaints and collusion.
Mourinho is aware that several players in the Chelsea squad are unhappy with his management methods and has launched an investigation into leaks from the dressing room.
There could be repercussions in January with sources at the club suggesting that they are expecting a “busier than usual” transfer window, with Mourinho keen to refresh his squad.
It was telling that Chelsea's technical director Michael Emenalo gave an interview to the Daily Telegraph last week in which he strongly backed Mourinho to turn the season around. It sent a message to unhappy players that the 52-year-old will not be sacked.
The Blues have won both of their fixtures since the international break - against Norwich and Maccabi Tel Aviv - ahead of Sunday’s trip to London rivals Tottenham.
Chelsea’s target for the season is now to qualify for the Champions League and a victory over top four contenders Spurs would provide Mourinho’s side with a massive boost ahead of the busy December schedule.

‘President Buhari Destroys Image Of Nigeria For Cheap Recognition’

Ayo Fayose, the Ekiti state governor, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that last six month of his government were that of “deceitful change”.
The governor also laments Nigerian leader ruined the image of Nigeria and its people for cheap international recognition.
He also defined the claim by Kemi Adeosun, the Minister of Finance, that the ministry does not have details of any loots returned from officials of the previous government of Goodluck Jonathan as a clearing of his position that Buhari was not saying the truth.
Fayose added that Nigerians must ask their leader where the so-called looted fund was paid and who made the payments.
Ekiti governor said: “ If the Ministry of Finance is not aware of any recovered fund, it is either those who purportedly made the refund did so by loading cash into Ghana-Must-Go bags and dropping the bags in the President’s bedroom or the fund was lodged into the Central Bank without records.
“The only areas President Buhari has recorded tremendous achievements are areas of political persecution, disobedience of court order and desperate bid to turn the country to a one-party state as evident in the Kogi State election, which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), headed by staged managed and muddled up.”
“In the last six months, a section of the judiciary has been so openly manipulated by the Buhari’s administration such that different judgments were given in similar cases, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) getting negative judgments while the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured positive judgements in cases with similar facts and evidences.”
Speaking further Governor Fayose said: “ Honestly, this change promised by President Buhari and his party, APC is nothing other than ‘one chance change’ and this has been attested to even by highly respected international news media.
“For instance, Bloomberg, in a report two days ago said hopes have fizzled in Buhari’s ability to turn around Nigeria and that money that flowed into stocks and bonds in Nigeria, which McKinsey & Co. says could become one of the world’s 20 biggest economies by 2030, is now fleeing as growth prospects diminish along with oil prices.
“Under President Buhari, the United States-based investment banking and financial services multinational J P Morgan ejected Nigeria from its Government Bond Index for Emerging Markets (GBI-EM) with effect from the end of October this year.
“Under Buhari, the future of workers are being threatened by the APC government plot to reduce minimum wage and retrench workers.
“Under Buhari, oil subsidy is to be removed next year January, thereby causing further hardship for the people.
“Under President Buhari, multi-national companies are laying-off thousands of workers while contractors working for the Federal Government have left their sites. Yet, what the President does is to junket from one country to another to cast aspersion on Nigeria and its people and one wonders how foreign investors will come to a country that its President says is peopled by rogues.”
Fayose had relentlessly criticised Buhari and his party, insisting the government has not performed impressively as Nigerians had expected. He was in the forefront of people who exaggerate Buhari’s school certificate saga, discrediting his education qualification.

She says to a man next to her: ''The driver just insulted me!'' The man says: ''You go up there and tell him off. Go on, I'll hold your monkey for you.''

FICTION: We Went To The Club But Landed In The Forest

It was a Friday night. I was looking forward to spending the weekend at my best friend, Funmi’s place.
Funmi stays outside the school premises while I stay inside the school hostel. As I braced up to get ready for another exciting weekend, little did I know that fate had a bitter experience all wrapped up for me.
Funmi has been my friend since 100 level. We are now in 300 level but my love for her has not in any way diminished. What with her smartness, fun-loving nature and above all, her exceptional brilliance. Although a bit of a spoilt kid, I totally love every bit of her because she inspires me in various ways.
‘‘How far? You never pack your bag since? I don tire o, I wan dey go house… I can’t wait to get home, eat and fall into my bed ,” Funmi said, looking at me with respite that day.
I had packed my bag already but was looking for my ‘early morning personal effects’ like toothbrush, sponge, towel and all. I had used them in the morning, but couldn’t put them in the bag because I needed them to be dry.
It was the second time I would be spending the weekend at her place and the first experience was great. She had told me this time around, her rich boyfriend would be taking us out, to a club probably.
No sooner had we gotten to her place than her boyfriend, Richards, buzzed her on phone. I didn’t hear what he said but from her responses, he was checking on her and also asking if we were prepared for the night’s outing. I was expectant and eager.
When we got to the club, I was all smiles. I was in the mood even before we started out. My spirit was high. Richards was seated afar, gulping bottles of spirit while we were on the dance floor digging it. I enjoyed myself till it was time for us to head home. I didn’t know I was in for some scenes I had only witnessed in Nigerian movies.
“I told you to always lock the car’s door slowly! Do you want to break it apart?”, Richard faced Funmi as she hurriedly jammed the front door of the jeep. I wondered why Richards, who was loving, subtle and caring some hours ago, was talking as if he does not care.
“Calm down nah, wetin dey do you? Abi no be this same jeep? It’s my brother’s toy at home…please stop ranting!” Funmi replied her boyfriend, with the plainest of all facial expressions…(or so I supposed).
This obviously didn’t go down well with Richard who I later noticed was drunk to the stupor. We had already moved past major highways and we were driving along a road with bushes on our sides and Richards, who was obviously pissed from the last statement from his girlfriend, halted the car in the middle of the road.
Before we girls could finish wondering what he was up to, Richards was already by the other side of the car, dragging down Funmi!
I was speechless. I could not say a word! What came to my mind like a flash was already happening right in front of me! Funmi was still forming. She was like “ehn, what’s wrong with you? Do you want to leave us in this bush? I trust you!”
Before I could pretend as if I was not part of the drama happening right in front of me, Richard looked at me at the back side and didn’t utter a word before I knew I had to go down. I stood beside Funmi as she ranted, while her boyfriend who she thought could not leave us in the jungle, zoomed off. He was dead drunk, his driving too was abnormal.
I stood at the side of the road, watched the jeep’s rear light disappear into the dark, until I could not catch a glimpse of it anymore.
We didn’t stand too long when we heard a whistle blowing. At first, it sounded like that of a vigilante but who could have been watching over a bush?
An impending danger dawned on us when we heard some footsteps alongside the whistle, with incoherent incantations. It was like my mind and that of Funmi had a pep talk. We ran into the bush together at once. As minutes went by, we went further into the bush but Funmi was tired and it seemed the incantations got louder.
As I tried to help Funmi up, so we could proceed, my eyes stumbled on an area in the bush which had some movements. I motioned to my friend to keep mute. As I looked closely, there in front of me was a man carrying out what looked like a ritual, he was stark naked, with a bowl of calabash sitting carefully on his two palms!
Another aged man was far behind him, holding a branch of plant, saying some words I had only heard in the Nigerian make-believe movie industry. I was shocked! My head became twice its normal size…(so I felt).
They went their way while we prayed for morning sun to come out as quickly as possible before our eyes behold another abomination. I’m not sure I will go out with anyone ever again at midnight.

UPDATE : Dangote To Build New Plants In Kano, Katsina Others

Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote Group of Companies, has promised to build a 500 megawatt power plant for Kano, Katsina, Jigawa and Kaduna states.
Africa’s richest man disclosed this in his in his address at the 36th Kano Trade Fair held in Kano.
He was represented at the event by the executive director shareholders management, Engineer Mansur Ahmad.
Dangote was quoted as saying that power plant is a intentional attempt to support local economy and wealth creation.
He added that without power manufacture and commerce will cripple and businesses will enormously decrease and that has been the situation in Kano for decades, saying anything to be done to bring back such would have to be done now than anytime.
The executive director disclosed that they were now discussing with the Kano state government on the 500 mega watt power supply and final deal will be signed in few weeks to come.
Dangote reportedly has been giving support to areas of health and education in Kano and in the next few weeks they are going to commission six out of the health care facilities constructed and were completed to Kano government.
Engr. Ahmad noted that Dangote has built over a hundred borehole across the state and the theater health facility at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital which was postponed due to design discrepancies and would soon be take off.
Millions of Nigerians are experiencing low power supply in the country in spite of the huge amount of money the Federal Government has spent to improve electricity supply

“I am one of the best trial attorneys in this country, and, if you don’t let me get that duck, I’ll sue you and take everything!”
The old farmer smiled and said,
“Apparently, you don’t know how we do things here. We settle small disagreements like this with the Three-Kick Rule.”
Barrister Akpors asked,
“What is the three-Kick Rule?”
The Farmer replied,
“Well, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth, until someone gives up.”
Barrister Akpors quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old farmer.
He agreed to abide by the local custom.
The old farmer slowly walked up to him.
His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into Akpor’s groin and dropped him to his knees.
His second kick nearly wiped Akpors’ nose off his face.
Barrister Akpors was flat on his belly when the farmer’s third kick to a kidney nearly caused him to give up.
He eventually summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet and said,
“Okay, you old farmer, now it’s my turn.”
The farmer smiled and said,
“Now, I give up. You can have the duck.”
Moral: No matter how well educated you are, RESPECT YOUR ELDERS!

CHELSEA AGAIN: CHELSEA AND WEST HAM FINED FOR MISCONDUCT

Both clubs have been fined for the behaviour of their players in the moments following Nemanja Matic's red card in the recent meeting between the two sides at Upton Park
Chelsea and West Ham have both been fined by the Football Association for failing to control their players during their recent Premier League clash.
Jose Mourinho's side have been forced to pay £50,000 while the Irons will have to fork out £40,000.
The recent meeting at Upton Park - which the Hammers won 2-1 - descended into chaos in the moments after the sending off Nemanja Matic just prior to half-time for two bookings.
West Ham were found guilty of failing to control their players in the 44th minute, while Chelsea were culpable of the same offence in the 45th minute.
The FA’s statement read: “Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, West Ham United and Chelsea have been fined £40,000 and £50,000 respectively after both clubs admitted an FA misconduct charge.
“The charge was for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the fixture between the two sides on 24 October 2015.
“Both clubs were also severely warned as to their future conduct.”
In the same match, Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands at half-time after confronting John Moss in his dressing room during the break.
The Portuguese has since served a one-match stadium ban for his actions, missing Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat at Stoke City last weekend.

FOUR WAYS TO REDUCE ANDROID DATA CONSUMPTION

Android devices consumes a lot of data, for most people who don’t have access to WiFi and are equally frustrated by data limit from mobile network providers. This could be a huge burden, as they begin to search for ways to reduce Android data consumption.
If you are one of such persons, believe me you are not alone! There are millions of Android users, especially in developing nations who get easily frustrated with the event of things. They are not able to put their devices to maximum use, for fear of being cut-off from internet access before the end of data billing cycle.
This could be over; I have put up an exclusive list of the four surest ways to reduce Android data consumption. It’s been working for a lot of users, it should also work like a charm for you.
Reduce Android Data Consumption – Digging Dip
Unless you’re on an unlimited data plan, there’s always the possibility you’ll hit or go over your 1GB or 3GB allowance for the month.
Here are some easy ways to cut down on the amount of data your smartphone uses.

1. Set Data Limit
One of the prolific ways to monitor and reduce android data consumption is to set data limit. This allows the device to trigger an alarm or notification when you are approaching your data limit.
Someone who purchases 3 GB of data per month can easily set a data limit of 100 MB of data daily. This way, you are conscious of what you are browsing and downloading.

2. Avoid App Ads
Free isn’t always free, I would gladly suggest you avoid the free meal. Some apps do come with enticing parameter; they offer the app for free while banishing your display with ads.
It’s best practice to purchase apps, this removes the ads from the app. Ads are resource hoggers, each time an add is loading in the app, it’s taking a little bit of extra data.
If you have a rooted android device, you can install an ad blocker. However, I can’t recommend a reliable ad blocker app at the moment.

3. Get Opera Mini For Android
There are two versions of Opera available to download on Google Play. One is the standard Opera for Android and the other is Opera mini mobile browser for Android, which is less than 2 MB download size.
If you care so much about way to reduce data consumption on android, you would have to make some sacrifices. The Opera Mini mobile browser completely compresses sites to mobile format. If you spend so much time on Facebook, you can use the Opera mini for android. You may not like the interface and there are no notifications for you.

4. Prevent Apps From Dogging In The Background
A lot of apps take delight in consuming your data in the background, unaware to you. The biggest culprit in this case, is social networking apps. Facebook is particularly notorious, it keeps updating, searching for notification and keeps consuming data for this series of event.
Also, stop Google Play from automatic update. Google constantly search for updates, and installs them by default. This consumes data, but you can stop it by simpl If u av any problem with your your phone related to this write it in the comment boxy telling Google Play not automatically update your apps.
Do you have any mobile data frustration? How did you reduce data consumption on Android? What were the steps you took? Let us know in the comments!

. Six Ways to Burn 100 Calories in 10 Minutes

One of the most common excuses for not exercising is not having enough time — especially during the holidays. Between work, family and social responsibility, it’s easy to let the gym take a back seat.
But no matter how busy you are, we’re willing to bet you can find intervals of 10 minutes throughout your day to burn some calories. A Boston University study
found that even short bursts of ten minutes spread out throughout the day can be as beneficial as longer hours spent at the gym.
With that, we rounded up a few of our favorite 10-minute workouts that burn around 100 calories each (estimate based on a 150-pound woman). Do these in the morning while the kids are getting ready, on your lunch break, or a few hours before bed and you’ll find getting your workout in is way easier than you thought.
Jump rope at a moderate intensity
One mile run
Bike ride (12 + mph)
Elliptical
Jumping Jacks
Brisk jog up the stairs
In addition to these easy workouts, make sure you stay active through out your day: Walk over to your boss’ office instead of calling her, make a few trips to the water cooler, and take the stairs instead of the elevator. Small changes can make a big overall difference in not just your weight, but also your mood and health.

Aliko Dangote GCON (born 10 April 1957) is a Nigerian billionaire, [2] who owns the Dangote Group , which has interests in commodities. The company operates in Nigeria and other African countries, including Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa, Togo,Tanzania and Zambia. [3] As of January 2015, he had an estimated net worth of US$18.6 billion. [2]
Dangote is ranked by Forbes magazine as the 67th richest person in the world and the richest in Africa;
[4] he peaked on the list as the 23rd richest person in the world in 2014. [5] He surpassed Saudi-Ethiopian billionaire Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi in 2013 by over $2.6 billion to become the world's richest person of African descent. [6]
Early life
Aliko Dangote, an ethnic Hausa[7] from Kano State , Nigeria, was born on 10 April 1957 into a wealthy Muslim family. Dangote said, "I can remember when I was in primary school, I would go and buy cartons of sweets [sugar boxes] and I would start selling them just to make money. I was so interested in business, even at that time." [8]
Business career
Business in Nigeria
The Dangote Group was established as a small trading firm in 1977. Today, it is a multi-trillion
naira conglomerate with many of its operations in Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. Dangote has expanded to cover food processing, cement manufacturing, and freight. The Dangote Group also dominates the sugar market in Nigeria and is a major supplier to the country's soft drink companies, breweries, and confectioners. The Dangote Group has moved from being a trading company to being the largest industrial group in Nigeria and includes: Dangote Sugar Refinery,
Dangote Cement , and Dangote Flour.
In July 2012, Dangote approached the Nigerian Ports Authority to lease an abandoned piece of land at the Apapa Port, which was approved. He later built facilities for his flour company there. In the 1990s he approached the Central Bank of Nigeria with the idea that it would be cheaper for the bank to allow his transport company to manage their fleet of staff buses, a proposal which was also approved.
In Nigeria today, Dangote Group with its dominance in the sugar market and refinery business is the main supplier (70% of the market) to the country's soft drinks companies, breweries and confectioners. It is the largest refinery in Africa and the third largest in the world, producing 800,000 tonnes of sugar annually. Dangote Group owns salt factories and flour mills and is a major importer of rice, fish, pasta, cement and fertiliser. The company exports cotton, cashew nuts, cocoa, sesame seed and ginger to several countries. It also has major investments in real estate, banking, transport, textiles and oil and gas. The company employs over 11,000 people and is the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa.
Dangote has diversified into telecommunications, and has started building 14,000 kilometres of fibre optic cables to supply the whole of Nigeria. As a result, Dangote was honoured in January 2009 as the leading provider of employment in the Nigerian construction industry.
He said, "Let me tell you this and I want to really emphasize it...nothing is going to help Nigeria like Nigerians bringing back their money. If you give me $5 billion today, I will invest everything here in Nigeria. Let us put our heads together and work." [9]
Other activities
As far as politics are concerned, Dangote played a prominent role in the funding of Olusegun Obasanjo 's re-election bid in 2003, to which he gave over N200 million (US$1M). He contributed N50 million (US$0.25M) to the National Mosque under the aegis of "Friends of Obasanjo and Atiku". He contributed N200 million to the Presidential Library. These highly controversial gifts to members of the ruling Party [PDP] have generated significant concerns despite highly publicised anti-corruption drives during Obasanjo's second term.
On 23 May 2010, Britain's Daily Mirror reported that Dangote was interested in buying a 16 percent stake in Premiership side Arsenal belonging to
Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith . [10] Dangote later denied these rumours.[11]
On 14 November 2011, Dangote was awarded Nigeria's second highest honour, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger ( GCON ) by the President, Goodluck Jonathan.[12]
Dangote reportedly added $9.2 billion to his personal wealth in 2013, according to the Bloomberg Index, now making him the 30th richest person in the world, in addition to being the richest person in Africa. [13]
In 2014, the Nigerian government said Dangote had donated 150 million Naira (US$750,000) to halt the spread of ebola.[14][15]
In May 2015 Dangote expressed interest in purchasing the English football team Arsenal. He stated that if he was able to make the purchase he would fire the club's long-standing manager
Arsene Wenger .[16]
Awards
Dangote was named as the Forbes Africa Person of the Year 2014. The other nominees for the award were South Africa’s Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela , Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, (SEC), Arunma Oteh, and President of the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka .[17] in 2013, Alhaji Dangote and six other prominent Nigerians were conferred Honorary Citizenship of Arkansas State by Governor Mike Beebe who also proclaimed May 30th of every year as Nigeria Day in the US. The other prominent Nigerians are: Chief Ms. Temitope Ajayi, the President and CEO of Nigerian American Agricultural Empowerment Programme; Governor
Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State; Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina , Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Prof. Tajudeen Gbadamosi , a former lecturer of University of Lagos; Prof. Ade Adefuye , the Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States; Prof. Julius Okojie , the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission. Early life
Aliko Dangote, an ethnic Hausa[7] from Kano State , Nigeria, was born on 10 April 1957 into a wealthy Muslim family.
MOST READ: High consumption of smoked meat(suya) may cause cancer- WHO

smoked meat {{SUYA}}

Processed meats – such as bacon, sausages and ham – do cause cancer , according to the World Health Organization (WHO ) . Its report said 50g of processed meat a day – less than two slices of bacon – increased the chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%.
Meanwhile , it said red meats were “ probably carcinogenic ” but there was limited evidence . The WHO did stress that meat also had health benefits . Cancer Research UK said this was a reason to cut down rather than give up red and processed meats. And added that an occasional bacon sandwich would do little harm.
Processed meat is meat that has been modified to increase its shelf -life or alter its taste – such as by smoking , curing or adding salt or preservatives. It is these additions which could be increasing the risk of cancer .
High temperature cooking , such as on a barbeque , can also create carcinogenic chemicals. The WHO has come to the conclusion on the advice of its International Agency for Research on Cancer , which assesses the best available scientific evidence .
It has now placed processed meat in the same category as plutonium, but also alcohol as they definitely do cause cancer.
However , this does not mean they are equally dangerous. A bacon sandwich is not as bad as smoking. “ For an individual , the risk of developing colorectal ( bowel) cancer because of their consumption of processed meat remains small, but this risk increases with the amount of meat consumed, ” Dr Kurt Straif from the WHO said .

UCH Discovers Cure for Sickle Cell Anaemia

Sickle Cell

University of Ibadan in partnership with the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA and University of Loyola, Chicago have discovered a permanent cure for Sickle Cell Anaemia.
This was revealed during a brainstorming session by sickle cell experts at the University Teaching Hospital UCH , Ibadan on Wednesday. The new method is called first blood and marrow stem cell transplant, BMT , which experts say it is much more effective than the conventional method of stem cell transplant which exposes patients to radiation and could cause cancer .
The cure of the deadly disease , according to the Professor of Medicine, Victor Gordeuk , who is the Director, Sickle Cell Centre, University of Illinois, Chicago, USA and his colleagues , Prof . Damiano Rondelli , also from the same university and Prof. Bamidele Tayo, University of Loyola , Chicago this new treatment is done through bone marrow transplant and that it is less risky .

The experts who were flanked by the Chief Medical Director, UCH, Prof. Temitope Alonge, Dr . Titilola Akingbola , an haematologist and Dr . Foluke Fasola , said this stem cell transplant is a standard procedure for the treatment of many blood cancers in both adult and children .
He said: “ With this chemotherapy -free transplant, we are curing adults with sickle cell disease, and we see that their quality of life improves fast within just one month of the transplant. “ About 90 per cent of the approximately 450 patients who have received stem cell transplants for sickle cell disease have been children.
Chemotherapy has been considered too risky for adult patients, who are often more weakened than children by the disease. “ Adults with sickle cell disease can now be cured without chemotherapy — the main barrier that has stood in the way for them for so long .
Our data provide more support that this therapy is safe and effective and prevents patients from living shortened lives , condemned to pain and progressive complications.”
“ In the new procedure , patients receive immuno- suppressive drugs just before the transplant, along with a very low dose of total body irradiation , a treatment much less harsh and with fewer potentially serious side effects than chemotherapy .”
“ Donor cells from a healthy and tissue-matched sibling are transfused into the patient . Stem cells from the donor produce healthy new blood cells in the patient , eventually in sufficient quantity to eliminate symptoms . In many cases , sickle cells can no longer be detected. Patients must continue to take immunosuppressant drugs for at least a year .
The CMD, Prof . Alonge who called for support from government, philanthropists, donor agencies and corporate bodies like banks and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation for provision of equipment and completion of the sickle cell centre , described sickle cell as a disease of bone crisis which the patient suffers from head to toe .
He added that Sickle Cell Disease is a genetic disorder due to the presence of an abnormal form of haemoglobin in the red blood cells , called haemoglobin S (Hb S ) instead of haemoglobin A ( Hb A) . Haemoglobin in the red blood cell is responsible for the transportation of oxygen in the body .

TIPS: how to stop snoring

If you’re like most Americans you probably don’t get eight hours sleep each night.
But, if you also constantly feel exhausted, experience headaches for no obvious reason or have high blood pressure, you could have a more serious problem.
That’s because these can all be the result of snoring—which is, in turn, the most common symptom of a potentially serious health problem—obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
While most people think of snoring as a minor annoyance, research shows it can be hazardous to your health. That’s because for over 18 million Americans it’s related to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People who suffer from OSA repeatedly and unknowingly stop breathing during the night due to a complete or partial obstruction of their airway. It occurs when the jaw, throat, and tongue muscles relax, blocking the airway used to breathe. The resulting lack of oxygen can last for a minute or longer, and occur hundreds of times each night.
Thankfully, most people wake when a complete or partial obstruction occurs, but it can leave you feeling completely exhausted. OSA has also been linked to a host of health problems including:
Acid reflux
Frequent nighttime urination
Memory loss
Stroke
Depression
Diabetes
Heart attack
People over 35 are at higher risk.
OSA can be expensive to diagnosis and treat, and is not always covered by insurance. A sleep clinic will require an overnight visit (up to $5,000). Doctors then analyze the data and prescribe one of several treatments. These may require you to wear uncomfortable CPAP devices that force air through your nose and mouth while you sleep to keep your airways open, and may even include painful surgery.
Fortunately, there is now a comfortable, far less costly and invasive treatment option available. A recent case study published by Eastern Virginia Medical School's Division of Sleep Medicine in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine concludes that wearing a simple chinstrap while you sleep can be an effective treatment for OSA.
The chin strap, which is now available from a company called MySnoringSolution, works by supporting the lower jaw and tongue, preventing obstruction of the airway. It’s made from a high-tech, lightweight, and super-comfortable material. Thousands of people have used the MySnoringSolution chinstrap to help relieve their snoring symptoms, and they report better sleeping, and better health overall because of it.
An effective snoring solution for just $119
The “My Snoring Solution” Chinstrap is available exclusively from the company’s website which is currently offering a limited time “2 for 1” offer. The product also comes with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.
If you want to stop snoring once and for all, without expensive CPAP devices or other intrusive devices, this may be the solution you’ve been waiting for. The free additional strap is great for travel or as a gift for a fellow sufferer.
Best of all, this product comes with an unconditional 90-day, money-back guarantee!
